Montezuma is on the furthest tip of the Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica where the jungle mountains touch the Pacific Ocean. Montezuma beach is wonderful for sun bathing or just walking. The sand is fine and the rocks close to shore provide the opportunity to see small sea life as the water recedes.

Known also for its impressive waterfalls and challenging trekking trails, Montezuma is the perfect place for a day-trip, freshwater adventure.

The small beach village of Montezuma attracts artists, beach lovers and backpackers from all over the world.

Nearby you might enjoy a hike at Cabo Blanco's Nature Reserve, one of the few places offering both a wet and a dry tropical forest growing side-by-side. Home to monkeys, iguanas, and countless birds, the reserve provides an excellent opportunity for wildlife viewing and bird-watching.
